NJYS Partners With Topps for National Champions Series
Who doesn’t dream of being famous and having their face adorn a trading card — if we are honest, most of us will admit its a great idea. Now, NJ Youth Soccer has partnered with Topps for its National Champions Series — and winning clubs will receive custom trading cards of their team. How fun!
Winners of both events will represent New Jersey against other state champions in US Youth Soccer Region I.
Youth Soccer News: New Jersey Youth Soccer is teaming up with Topps to celebrate its state cups champions once again. Each member of NJYS’ National Champions Series, Presidents Cup and Commissioners Cup championship teams will receive a custom trading card featuring a team selected image.
This initiative follows a successful launch this last season where NJ Youth Soccer teams earned a commemorative Topps card to remember their achievement.
The front of the card will have the team name and picture. The back of each card will be the club logo and a team note of their choice to commemorate this crowning achievement. The cards will possess the same quality, look and feel of the 2016 Topps MLS cards featuring the stars from MLS.
Additionally, to show thanks for their support, NJ Youth Soccer and Topps are providing the team members of all registered State Cups teams a discount on custom trading cards. The retail value of a pack is $9.99. Each pack is available to be customized for design and purchased immediately on Topps’ website.
New Jersey continues to be a one of the largest state youth soccer participation groups in the northeast region. The state cups provide three levels of competition: At the elite level teams can participate in the National Championship Series. In addition, competitive travel programs are able to play in the NJYS Presidents Cup.
Winners in both categories will represent New Jersey in the next level of competition against other state champions in US Youth Soccer Region I. Winners of the Region I tournament face each other in the US Youth Soccer National Competition in the summer. The Commissioners Cup is a new competition in 2016 designed for a third tier of teams that focuses on the benefits of healthy and fun competition, and culminates in New Jersey champions.
