California Storm Welcome International Players to 2016 Roster
The California Storm prepare for the 2016 WPSL season by adding six international players from Canada, England, Ghana, Ireland as well as Mexico. The blend of international and homegrown players will surely bring versatility to the field as the largest women’s league in the world kicks off.
Soccer News: The California Storm’s domestic player-base brings a bold flavor to the table. Add to that the zest of some of the world’s best international players and you’ve got yourself a recipe for the perfect Storm.
This year, the team has already added several international players including Teresa Noyola from Mexico, Fiona O’Sullivan from Ireland, Alice Broadbent of England, Zoe Zyta of Canada, and returning for another year are Jennifer Cudjoe and Sherifatu Sumalia from Ghana, Africa.
The California Storm’s determination to kick things up a notch, year after year, has really shown their relentless commitment to providing a highly competitive playing filed for women in soccer.
The California Storm of Sacramento is led by team owner and Head Coach Jerry Zanelli. The Storm play at the highest amateur level in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and compete in the league’s Nor Cal division against seven other women’s soccer teams.
WPSL Headquarters is in Sacramento, California and fields just over 100 teams holding the title of the world’s largest women’s league.
