Soccer News: Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup Champions
The 2015 Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup presented by NIKE is heralded by coaches as one of the nation’s best soccer tournaments. Taking place in the city of Cerritos, located in southern Los Angeles County, on 78 fields across 30 venues — Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup hosted over 600 elite youth soccer teams. It is an amazing youth soccer tournament – professionally well run and highly competitive.
The 2015 Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup is the largest Memorial Day soccer tournament on the West Coast and drew teams from around the Southwest and as far away as France for three days of exciting youth soccer competition. This highly competitive youth soccer competition is ranked by GotSoccer as one of the nation’s best soccer tournaments.
“This year was our largest tournament ever,” said Tournament Director Alex Camargo.
“This was the 20 year anniversary of our event and it was a huge success,” said Walter Camargo, Tournament Directort. “Congratulations to everyone who took part. It’s been fantastic to see so many participating teams turn up and compete. We will continue to strive to create a great experience for all the players and their families for years to come.”

Escondido FC Heat Premier BU16 had a very successful weekend of competition as they defeated FC Long Beach B98 in the finals to become the champions. FC Heat battled their way to win their bracket and successfully advanced to the semifinals by defeating CFC Untouchables in the quarterfinals. The team reached the championship game by defeating Albion SC White in PK’s after playing five hard fought matches in the tournament.
