Sixteen Girl Players Will Represent The id2 National Selection Team
Soccer News: Sixteen elite girls players born in 2000 will represent the id2 National Selection team at the 2015 Nike National Training Camp powered by ECNL and id2, July 28-Aug. 1.
This is the third year of the National Selection programming element for the girls id² Program, as the event returns to the prestigious Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. The id2 National Selection team will play a pair of games against older teams made of players selected from NorCal and Washington Player Development Program (PDP) events held in the region over previous months:
Wednesday, July 29: id2 National Selection vs. Washington PDP, 5-6:30 p.m. PT
Friday, July 31: id2 National Selection vs. NorCal PDP, 9:30-11 a.m. PT
The players on the id2 National Selection team come from 13 different clubs, and were selected based on their performances in id² Training Camps and other events in 2014. The players incur no costs to participate in the camp, as all costs including airfare, lodging, meals and training gear are covered by US Club Soccer and Nike.

At the camp, the players will participate training sessions, competitions and off-the-field presentations with top coaches from around the country. U.S. Soccer staff will also scout players for potential inclusion in National Team programming.
The id2 National Selection Training Camp represents the final programming element targeting girls born in 2000. The final id2 programming event targeting boys born in 2001 was the id2 National Selection International Tour, held Feb. 28-March 10 in Argentina.
Held concurrently with the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), the combined event features approximately 100 of the top female players throughout the country from 1997-2000 age groups.
