Soccer News: President’s Cup Begins Memorial Day Weekend
The 2015 US Youth Soccer Region I Presidents Cup kicks off Saturday in Slippery Rock, PA. Teams from US Youth Soccer Region I (East) will compete from May 23-25 to advance to the 2015 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.
The tournament will feature 99 US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams in the Under-12 8v8 through Under-17 age groups, competing for a regional title. Winners from the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups will advance to the 2015 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 9-12 in Overland Park, Kan.
Preliminary games will take place Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, May 24. Semifinal matches will take place on May 24 for the following age groups: U-12G 8V8, U-13G, U-15G, U-17G, U-12B 8V8 and U-13B. Regional champions will be crowned following final matches on Monday, May 25. Games will take place at Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock High School, Dicks Sportsplex and North Boundary Park.
Pennsylvania West Soccer Association will host the event, and the other 14 State Associations represented include Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, New York West, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup offers teams the challenge of experiencing different types of play by competing from state to regional to national levels. The Presidents Cup provides teams with a progressive, competitive experience that highlights competition, camaraderie and community.
