The annual MLS SUPER DRAFT is a day when dreams are made or crashed. As we look ahead to the 21st season of the MLS, fans wonder who will be the new stars of the season. Today brings together top collegiate youth and international players from around the world as those selected step into the wondrous world of professional soccer.
Whose childhood dreams will be fulfilled today?
Now the MLS has 20 teams who will be selecting from approximately 200 draft-eligible players. Yes, soccer has grown in America and we all expect future growth.
Commissioner Don Garber has led the MLS to new heights of success and garnered the respect of skeptics from across the Atlantic. Today, the MLS has several coaches who have actually gone through the process of being a youth player who turned professional through the process of the the MLS Super Draft.
The anticipation for the 2016 season schedule, which will be unveiled January 7, is just starting to be shared by soccer fans. How will the veteran leaders respond to the newcomers and how much actual playing time will some of these new draft picks earn? All to be revealed as the next MLS season unfolds.

2016 SUPERDRAFT
Note: Only the first two rounds are held today. SuperDraft Rounds 3 and 4 will take place via a conference call on January 19
First pick goes to Chicago Fire who selects from Wake Forest University 5’9″ midfielder Jack Harrison from England. Eloquent and intelligent, Harrison thanks first his mom and then his uncle in England and ended his acceptance speech wishes all the other players good luck. Now this player has been traded to NYCFC.
2nd Draft Pick is traded from Colorado Rapids to Philadelphia Union who selected defender Joshua Yaro from Georgetown University. Obviously impressed with being second choice, Yaro opened his welcome speech with a big WOW. Yaro is from Ghana.

3rd Draft Pick also is a recruit from Georgetown University — that coach must be doing something great — Defender Keegan Rosenberry.
4th Draft Pick was traded by NYCFC to Chicago Fire who selected defender Brandon Vincent from Stanford.
5th Draft Pick is Omar Holness, Midfielder from the University of North Carolina.
6th Draft Pick is Fabian Herbers, Midfielder from Creighton University. Philadelphia acquired the 6th pick from Houston via a trade on 12/07/15.
7th Draft Pick is Richmond Laryea, Midfielder from the University of Akron.
8th Draft Pick is Andrew Tarbell, Goalkeeper from Clemson.
9th Draft Pick is Tsubasa Endow, Midfielder from Maryland.
10h Draft Pick is Jordan McCrary Defender from North Carolina.
11th Draft Pick is Julian Buescher, Defender from Syracuse D.C. United acquired the pick from Sporting KC via a trade on 01/14/16.
12th Draft Pick is Jonathan Campbell, Defender from the University of North Carolina. Chicago acquired the pick from Colorado via a trade on 01/14/16 and Colorado acquired the pick from LA Galaxy via a trade on 01/14/16.
13th Draft Pick is Hadji Barry, Forward from the University of Central Florida.
14th Draft Pick is Kyle Fisher, Defender from Clemson University.
