Registration for the Three-Day Event open through December 26
Many of the United States’ most accomplished women’s players have played in the WPSL, including household names such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Julie Foudy, and Brandi Chastain.
The WPSL is providing the opportunity, both for women within its league and across the continent, to participate in an international combine featuring coaches and scouts from leagues such as the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and Italian Serie A.
In part of the league’s mission to create additional opportunities for women in soccer, the Women’s Premier Soccer League is hosting an international combine in Southlake, Texas at Bob Jones Park on January 3-4, the league announced Thursday.
Coaches and scouts from NWSL, Italian Serie A, among other leagues will coach the training sessions and lead seminars between training to prepare participants for future professional opportunities.
Combine registration is now open through December 26. Links for registration and additional details can be found at WPSLsoccer.com/combine.
Isabella Cardone, general manager of Italian Serie A club Pink Bari, will be one of the instructors. Cardone is UEFA A License certified and has won league championships in each of Italy’s top three divisions (Serie A, B, C).
Scott Parkinson (Utah Royals FC – NWSL), Massimo Bonazza (Italian Soccer Federation) and Geso Strambelli (S.S. Monopoli 1966). Additional coaches and scouts will be announced leading up to the combine.
The WPSL is entering its 23rd season and is the largest women’s soccer league in the world with more than 119 clubs from coast-to-coast. WPSL rosters feature elite collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep student-athletes.
