The US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships, which will feature top teams in the Under-12 through Under-19 age groups, kicks off Monday, June 22, with games running from through Sunday, June 28.
The Baltimore Celtics U14 and U17 teams have already qualified for National Championships in Tulsa, OK which start competition on July 21st.
“The recent accomplishments for our club are a direct result of an incredible amount of hard work put in by our players and staff. We strongly believe in the on and off the field environment we are beginning to create at Baltimore Celtic,” said Brandon Quaranta, Head Coach and Baltimore Celtics DOC.
Quaranta is an out spoken top coach in American youth soccer and well known for his dedication to player development over the winning at all costs mentality.
“We want dedicated players, who are passionate about the game, and willing to do the necessary work to improve but it’s equally important that they are loyal, trustworthy, and committed to fostering and preserving our club’s family atmosphere.
Celtic is designed to be a real club, and not simply a collection of teams. Our players understand that fact and fully embrace it,” said Quaranta, who is highly successful at training players and teams to perform at their best.
Coached by Quaranta, the Baltimore Celtic U16 boys team won the USYSA National Championship at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, MD.
They went undefeated for the week with 3 wins and 2 draws and won the final in penalty kicks over Ohio Premiere Elite. Tunde Akinsolotu (McDonogh) scored the lone goal in regulation, and Sean Clarke (Loyola) hit the game winning penalty shot to bring home the title. The team is Coached by Brandon Quaranta (HC) and Jack Quaranta (AC)
This concluded an undefeated run through the State, Regional and National Championships that saw the team score 38 goals and only concede 6. The team posted a total record of 12 wins and 3 draws.
