Donald Deep (Ohio) and Alana Cook (N.J.) Named Scholar Players of the Year
Soccer News: Thirty-four boys and 48 girls were named to the 2014-15 NSCAA High School Scholar All-American Teams.
Additionally, forward Donald Deep from Olentangy Liberty High School (Powell, Ohio) and defender Alana Cook from The Pennington School (Pennington, N.J.) were named NSCAA Scholar Players of the Year.

Deep was named to the First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, and First Team All-State as a junior and senior. This past season, he was named Central District Player of the Year after recording 19 goals and 15 assists. Throughout the school year, Deep maintained a 4.17 GPA. He will be attending and playing at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall.
Cook is a two-time NSCAA Youth All-American with numerous U.S. youth national team appearances. Cook captained the U17 national team in several international friendlies in 2013 and made the jump to the U20 camp in 2014. Cook guided The Pennington School to the New Jersey Independent Athletic Association title, scoring eight game-winning goals during the season and earning recognition as the New Jersey Prep Player of the Year. A central defender with skills at both ends of the field, she scored 12 goals and had eight assists as a senior, earning passage to the NSCAA High School All-America Game, and earning Best XI honors for her performance. Cook, who has a 4.0 GPA, will continue her soccer and academic career at Stanford University in the fall.
Scholar All-Americans will be recognized and presented their award at the 2015 NSCAA High School All-American Brunch on Saturday, Aug. 1. The event, in conjunction with the NSCAA Summer Symposium, will take place at Lake Buena Vista Palace in Orlando.
