5 Players to Feature at W-League Championship in Quebec
The W-League announced its 2015 All-League Team, featuring five players who will compete at this weekend’s W-League Championship presented by Nike at Desjardins Stadium in Laval, Quebec. The 2015 W-League All-League Team was selected through a vote of team management.
The Western Conference champion Colorado Pride had two players named to the team, with league scoring champion Tara Andrews and goalkeeper Britt Eckerstrom honored. The host Laval Comets also had two players selected, with defender Kelsey Wilson and midfielder Kayla Adamek named. The top-seeded Washington Spirit Reserves are represented by midfielder Megan Dougherty-Howard.
A pair of defenders are making their second consecutive appearance on the All-League Team – Sue Alber-Weber of the Long Island Rough Riders and the Charlotte Lady Eagles’ Amanda Naeher. Both clubs had two players selected, with Charlotte forward Leah Fortune and Long Island forward Shan Jones also selected.
Rounding out the squad are Seattle Sounders Women and U.S. U-23 star Rose Lavelle, and defender Savannah McCaskill of the Carolina Elite Cobras.

The host Laval Comets will welcome the Pride, Quebec Dynamo ARSQ and Washington Spirit Reserves to Desjardins Stadium Friday for the 2015 W-League Championship presented by Nike. Top-seeded Washington will meet No. 4 Quebec in the first semifinal Friday at 5 p.m. ET, with No. 2 Colorado facing No. 3 Laval at 7:30. The finalists for Coach of the Year, Defender of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player will be announced on Thursday, July 23, with the awards presented at the W-League Championship Awards Banquet in Laval on Saturday, July 25.
