The Battle for the Top Spot in La Liga Continues as PSG Host Lille in Coupe de la Ligue Final
The race for the La Liga title is on as Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are in action this weekend looking to top the table with just a few weeks left to go of the season. PSG host Lille in the Coupe de la Ligue final, and the NASL Match of the Week features the Tampa Bay Rowdies hosting the Carolina RailHawks at Al Lang Stadium.
Soccer News: Following an 8-0 blowout defeating Deportivo on their home turf, FC Barcelona hosts Sporting de Gijón at the Camp Nou Stadium this weekend seeking another victory to maintain their top spot on the LaLiga table. Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid, sitting in second place with equal points to the league leaders, hosts Málaga at the Vicente Calderón Stadium while third place Real Madrid visits Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio de Vallecas. Another round of the “Derby Sevillano” also takes place this weekend with Sevilla facing cross-city rival, Real Betis, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
Headlining Serie A action is Napoli who visits Roma at the Stadio Olimpico following a 6-0 victory over Bologna, while Fiorentina hosts league leaders, Juventus, at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence. The defending champions scored their 26th win of the season this week against Lazio and reestablished their nine-point lead over Napoli and could be crowned Serie A champions after this weekend’s action.
The Coupe de la Ligue final headlines French action this weekend as Lille takes on defending champions, Paris Saint-Germain, who hold a record of five victories in the championship.
In North America, beIN SPORTS’ NASL “Match of the Week” will feature the Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. the Carolina RailHawks at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida. The RailHawks have been the only team in the Spring Season to win all its three first matches showing a powerful offense while the Tampa Bay Rowdies have shown to be fierce defenders thus far, allowing only one goal.
