Inside Toronto FC’s Partnership with Match Analysis
Statistical data analysis is an important development factor that is essential to a team’s progression throughout the season. Here is a look inside Toronto FC’s partnership with Match Analysis and the benefits its Tango Online program has to improve player performance, knowledge and awareness.
Soccer News: 2016 Canadian Championship Winners Toronto FC have used California-based Match Analysis for their video and statistical data analysis for the past four seasons.
A key component the Major League Soccer club employs to improve player performance, knowledge and awareness is Tango Online, Match Analysis’s 24/7 interactive cloud-based video and statistical database. Tango Online presents charts, timelines and infographics linked with corresponding video for every match event, player and touch, enabling coaches and players to analyze individual and collective performance, as well as scout opponents.Match Analysis recently launched their new foundational technology platform for Tango Online and Toronto are benefitting from the improvements the new system delivers. With upgraded video player functionality, faster page loads, increased OS support, and improved mobile compatibility, Tango Online now allows greater accessibility and produces an even better user experience.
“Tango Online is one of the most valuable assets we have for player development. With it, the coaching staff plus importantly the players themselves, access video to analyze performance and prepare for upcoming matches,” said Toronto FC’s Assistant Coach, Nick Theslof. “The upgrades with the new system are fantastic. Now players are regularly accessing Tango via their smartphones, which is having a more positive impact on their own and the team’s progression.”
“The rebuilt Tango is very convenient. It’s easy access and improved video performance allows me to be more efficient on the road, at home and at the training grounds,” added Head Coach Greg Vanney.
“Client feedback on the new Tango Online platform has been extremely positive. Coaches and players have specifically commented on the improved speed of the site, new video player functionality with slow and fast motion, plus importantly their ability to access Tango anytime via any mobile device,” said Eddie Hidalgo, Head of Client Services at Match Analysis. “Every goal, every save, PK taken, set piece, etc are all now accessible at their fingertips 24/7. How great is that for visual and mental preparation prior to a game!”
SoccerToday interviewed the Mark Brunkhart (founder and CEO) and walked through a comprehensive presentation on the system. A comprehensive review and more on all this coming soon.
