Washington Spirit and Sky Blue FC Highlight Week 15 of the NWSL
Week 15 of the 2016 NWSL season prepares to kick off on Saturday with Washington Spirit hosting Sky Blue FC for a rematch of last weekend’s match in New Jersey. Portland Thorns and Washington sit atop the NWSL table with each tallying 26 points, while WNY Flash remains one point behind the league leaders.
NWSL Soccer News: Portland Thorns FC and Washington Spirit enter Week 15 of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season tied in points atop the table as players across the league serve international duty for the duration of the Rio Olympics that kick off on August 5th.
The opening game of the weekend sees a rematch from Week 14 with Washington Spirit hosting Sky Blue FC this fixture with kickoff set for Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Sky Blue have won their last three matches as the New Jersey club comes off a 1-0 win at home versus Washington. The Spirit aim to regain their form in order to put pressure on Portland at the top of the table.

The second match of the weekend sees the Chicago Red Stars welcoming FC Kansas City to Toyota Park at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Chicago is currently tied in points with Sky Blue for the fourth spot as the Red Stars come off a 1-0 loss against the Houston Dash. FC Kansas City topped Western New York Flash in a 1-0 victory last week at Rhinos Stadium in Rochester.
Nicole Barnhart of Kansas City comes off another stellar week as she received NWSL Player of the Week honors following her 14-save night versus the Flash.

Western New York Flash travel to BBVA Compass Stadium to take on the Houston Dash at 8:30 p.m. ET.
WNY are led by NWSL scoring leaders Lynn Williams and Jessica McDonald who claim the top two spots in the league. Houston are coming off a solid performance versus the Red Stars salvaging a point on the road off a late goal by rookie Rachel Daly.

Portland Thorns FC and Seattle Reign FC close out Saturday at Providence Park with kickoff set for 10:30 p.m. ET.
Seattle Reign FC defeated the Orlando Pride 5-2 in Week 14, while Portland aims to continue their streak at the top of the table in front of a thundering Portland crowd.

Boston Breakers host Orlando Pride at 6:00 p.m. ET on Sunday to conclude Week 15.
Orlando sit in seventh place after losing their last two matches, while the Breakers come off a bye as the Boston club continues to search for their stride in the 2016 NWSL campaign.
