Just Soccer Futsal Center Dedicates Facility to Youth Development
With futsal taking the country by storm, youth players have embraced the latest development technique to enhance their skills through the fast-paced indoor game. As the Professional Futsal League develops with the help of U.S. Futsal National Team head coach Keith Tozer, players have added futsal to their busy training schedules for a new age of soccer development that hits the ground running.
SoccerToday takes a stop at Just Soccer Futsal Center in Corona, California, to highlight the futsal specific facility that has made rounds on developing a distinguished program dedicated to building the game at the youth level.
Youth Soccer News: For our first soccer center feature, SoccerToday takes a stop in one of the soccer hotspots of Southern California – the Inland Empire.
Just Soccer Futsal Center opened in Corona, California, in 2012 and has grown from a small facility for locals to a notable soccer center that includes adult and youth leagues, academy training camps, tournaments, a competitive youth futsal program as well as open-play during off days.
Ernie Garcia founded Just Soccer with the hopes of providing a stage for soccer players and fanatics to enjoy the game and showcase their talent in a fun and friendly environment.
This futsal specific facility has received extensive recognition across Riverside and San Bernardino County due to its vibrant atmosphere and dedication to skills development.
Facility Offerings
Just Soccer has developed a facility that aims to provide all players with an opportunity to play futsal. With adult and youth leagues played throughout the week, its training academy is available for all ages and is offered through group or private sessions.
Along with tournaments hosted by Just Soccer, the facility utilizes open-play nights distinguished by age groups during the week.
Specific nights include adult open-play, while other days are set for youth players to attend. For instance, Friday nights are specific for youth open-play, which consists of ages 5 to 7-year-olds kicking off in the early afternoon and high school players concluding the night.
Just Soccer has also become an active part of the community in Riverside County through its partnership with AYSO regions in the area as well as with local club and schools teams that attend training sessions at the facility.
“We strive to make Just Soccer accessible for everyone,” said Coach Ernie.
Just Soccer Staff
The comfort level that is felt while attending Just Soccer has provided the facility with that extra sense of credibility that has kept players attending over the years. The family-oriented environment allows everyone to enjoy themselves whether they play or watch their kids train.
The staff is seen constantly interacting with players and spectators along with participating during adult open-play nights.
Coach Ernie presents his customers with care and dedication to providing a great soccer atmosphere that youth players and adults can enjoy.
“The environment is very welcoming. With the sound system and music playing, games have an atmosphere to them,” said Coach Chris Mendoza, a Just Soccer Academy instructor.
Debra Johnson, mother of Just Soccer Academy member Donovan Johnson, praises Coach Ernie for being a wonderful addition to her family’s life. She explains that the atmosphere felt at the facility has kept her and Donovan coming to Just Soccer over the years.
“I never worry about him there, ever,” stated Debra Johnson.
Just Soccer Academy
The dedication to skills development has remained an area that is acknowledged by Just Soccer attendees. The structure of the training academy emphasizes a variety of techniques in order to develop a player’s skills through playing futsal.
“Our curriculum includes a bit of Brazilian and U.S. Futsal development programs mixed with our own experience and training concepts,” said Coach Ernie.
The instructors of the academy believe repetition is key to success.
Through futsal players are provided with rapid consistency in training that allows for them to maximize their touches. The Just Soccer Academy strives for repetition by focusing on one specific area during its training sessions.
“Part of our academy includes members coming in for a specific area of development such as shooting, and that is all they do for 30 to 40 minutes,” stated Coach Ernie.
Debra Johnson explains that the dedication the facility shows in its training methods has turned her into a strong advocate of Just Soccer. She notes the relationship Coach Ernie develops with his players truly presents a sense of care that has allowed for her son’s progression to continually improve while attending the Just Soccer Academy.
Ginga FC
Part of Just Soccer Academy’s recent expansion is the development of its own competitive youth futsal club – Ginga FC. The club consists of U7-U14 age groups that compete in youth futsal tournaments held in the Southern California region.
Ginga FC’s U12 side most recently played two age groups up at the U.S. Futsal National Championships held in San Jose, CA. Although the club did not make it past the group stage, they finished with two ties and one loss versus talented older squads.
Just Soccer has continued its transition to focusing strictly on youth development with the addition of Ginga FC. Local players are now provided with the opportunity to expand their training curriculum by playing futsal at the competitive level on top of their regular club schedules.
Just Soccer Futsal Center
Just Soccer Futsal Center is a working piece of the puzzle as futsal continues to reach players across the United stated. Although the facility continues to provide options for adults, the futsal center has remained dedicated to building a business dedicated to youth players.
Just Soccer has remained active in the futsal community over the years by participating in local tournaments in Southern California with teams consisting of regulars who play at the facility.
Coach Ernie has developed a relationship with Toque Futsal of La Habra to help build the futsal community with tournaments and other events held throughout the years.
Just Soccer also partnered with Ontario Fury of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) last year for its I.E. Futsal Championship League that will kick off its second edition this fall.
Soccer facilities such as Just Soccer Futsal Center have emerged all over the country and remain on the agenda for future youth development. SoccerToday takes this first stop in Corona as we kick off our latest soccer center column highlighting the vibrant atmosphere provided at local facilities.
