L.A. Wolves Win 13th Straight UPSL Match
A team making a difference on the West Coast with big plans for the future: L.A. Wolves recorded its 16th win across all competitions over the weekend with a victory over Del Rey City SC. L.A. has qualified for the third round of qualifying for the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, scheduled for March of 2017.
UPSL Soccer News: Henry Escobar’s brace led L.A. Wolves FC to its 13th win of the 2016 season in a 4-0 victory over Del Rey City SC on Sunday in UPSL Western Conference play.
Escobar continues to make an impact in his first six months as L.A. improved to 13-0-0 overall record in 2016. The victory was L.A. Wolves’ last league fixture of the 2016 calendar year and their 16th consecutive win across all competitions.
“This was a great year for the Wolves and the UPSL — so we are excited to get into the Holidays on a very positive note with this win,” said President/GM Yan Skwara. “We look forward to the playoffs which will start in January as i think its fair to say we have some playoff expectations this season.” Skwara is also the league UPSL commissioner.
“It was a good match for the boys to close out the year. We’re looking forward to the playoffs so it was good to get a few more kicks in before January,” said L.A. Wolves FC head coach Michael Collins. “The way we’ve played so far, the squad deserves a good rest over the holiday break. We wish all our fans and families a fantastic Holiday.”
Yan Skwara’s L.A. Wolves FC have been successful on the field and have tallied 10 goals versus Del Rey City SC in two matches during the 2016 UPSL Fall Season. The Wolves previously defeated Del Rey City SC, 6-1, on August 6th.
L.A. Wolves FC has clinched a first-round playoff bye in the upcoming UPSL playoffs after securing the top spot in the Western Division table. The club has three more regular season matches remaining.
