ATL Silverbacks & Tulsa Roughnecks Host Pro Combine
As the 2017 soccer season approaches, the Atlanta Silverbacks and Tulsa Roughnecks have announced its partnership to host a professional combine event in the coming weeks. Atlanta Silverbacks of the NPSL will be hosting open tryouts this week, with selected players invited to the Combine event.
NPSL Soccer News: The Atlanta Silverbacks announced a partnership with United Soccer League (USL) club Tulsa Roughnecks FC to host a two-day professional combine on January 26th and 27th at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.
The combine provides local players in Atlanta and members of the Silverbacks 2016 NPSL team the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts from a number of USL teams. The technical staff will be led by Tulsa Roughneck’s head coach David Vaudreuil and the Silverbacks coaching staff.
The combine provides promising players from the Southeast region with an opportunity to take their talents to the next level.
“I am a fan of the work the Silverbacks are doing developing players. They are building a program that is critical for the next generation of players. We are looking for players that show they have something special and can contribute right away. I know the region well from my time with the Silverbacks and the many combines we have run in Atlanta. I am looking forward to seeing the latest talents out on the field.” said Vaudreuil.
‘‘David was the head coach of the Silverbacks in the old USL Pro league and has run his own professional combines here across the country. We are excited to work with his organization to provide our local youths exposure to a high-level professional tryout environment. Last year we brought in English Premier League club Middlesbrough as an opportunity for our players, but this year we wanted to do something different and open it up to anyone. The Silverbacks are a developmental club, and we want to serve as a pathway to the next level and these are opportunities we provide our athletes that not too many clubs in our league have.” said Phoday “FD” Dolleh, Silverbacks GM.
Prior to the combine, the Silverbacks will host their open tryouts for the 2017 NPSL season on January 3rd and 4th. Selected players from the Silverbacks tryouts will receive invitations to the pro-Combine.
The combine is open to the public with registration available on Atlanta’s website. The registration fee for the two-day combine is $150.
There will be no walk-in registration the day of the event. The last day to reserve a spot for the combine is January 25th.
