Eastern New York Premier League Hosts a Girls College Showcase in Queens
New York Youth Soccer News: The Boys College Showcase will be on Sunday, June 11, also in Queens
The Eastern New York Premier League (ENYPL), the oldest continuous Premier League in the United States, hosted an Inaugural Boys College Showcase last year. It was so successful that a Girls College Showcase was added for this spring, and it was played last Sunday, June 4 at Kissena Park in Queens and was scouted by coaches from seven different college programs.
“The performance level of the players was very high,” explained ENYPL Chairperson Andreas Touros. “All college coaches were very pleased with the high quality of players competing who play in the ENYPL.”
If you missed the girls, you can still catch the boys who play this Sunday, June 11, also at Kissena Park, with Boys-Under-19 kicking off at 12:30 pm and Boys-Under-17 playing at 2:45 pm. The college showcases are hosted by the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), which unlike other college showcases, does not charge the players a penny for the use of the field plus uniforms and officials.
Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association: With over 100,000 youth soccer players–both boys and girls–and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association(ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators.
