Eastern New York Celebrates Youth Soccer Month
It is finally the beginning of the Fall youth soccer season and the USA is alive with youth soccer players arriving at soccer fields to discover the joys of the beautiful game. In New York, players’ enthusiasm is met with an organized celebration of youth soccer this month from the US Youth Soccer state association.

The Fall Season kicks off on September 9 and 10 and the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) will hold a giveaway starting September 7 and going to the end of the month in celebrating September as Youth Soccer Month. All you need to do to win is show us how you celebrate Youth Soccer Month! Open to ENYYSA members only.
Here are a few ideas of how you can celebrate Youth Soccer Month:
- Make your own soccer ball on Make Your Own Ball Day (September 21, 2017)
- Make a soccer ball with whatever materials you can find at home
- Share a picture or video of the ball you made
- Be sure to tag @MakeYourOwnBall in your post using #ENYCelebratesYSM
- Make it a team effort
- Share video/photos from your team practices.
- Showoff your skills
- Try the #HeaderBinChallenge
- Practice your dribbling
- Show off something you like to do before playing a game.
- September Birthday?
- Throw a soccer-themed party

Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association: With over 100,000 youth soccer players–both boys and girls–and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association(ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators.
