U.S. U15 GNT Win Pair of Friendlies Versus Germany

U.S. U15 GNT traveled for matches against Germany U15 GNT and scored big.  This was a life time opportunity for players to be immersed in a true soccer culture and compete in international friendlies — testing their abilities against European counterparts. 

Youth Soccer News: The U.S. U15 Girls’ National Team competed in two matches against the Germany U15 GNT — and won both games.

U.S. U15 GNT head coach Tracey Kevins did an excellent job as coach of her first two international matches.

Coming home as victors is a show of proof that our country’s dominance in the world of women’s soccer has a bright future.

Here is a recap of the youth soccer action:

First — on November 1, 2017, our U.S. Soccer U15 Girls’ National Team defeated Germany 3-2 — with young superstar Allyson Sentnor scoring two goals to help bring home the victory for the red, white and blue.  This talented midfielder is only 13-year-old.  The game winning goal was scored by forward Alexis Missimo in the 70th minute.

Then — on November 3, 2017, in the Stadion Wetzlar, in Wetzlar, Germany the U15 Girls’ team did it again — this time winning with a remarkable final score of 6-1.

Sentnor dominated the scoring, earning an impressive hat trick in the second match. Simone Jackson scored 2 goals and Ameila White scored one.

Sentnor is the only player on the roster born in 2004, all of the other 19 players were born in 2003.  She plays for Massachusetts’ South Shore Select and scored a total of five goals in the two International friendlies.

Missimo plays for Solar Chelsea, Jackson plays for California’s Arsenal and White plays for Fort Wayne United.

This age group of players is at the end of the first year of a two-year cycle as U-15s before transitioning to U-17s in 2019, when they will form the core of the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

As part of U.S. Soccer’s ongoing mission to provide increased international programming for the Youth Girls’ and Women’s National Teams, these games marked the first international trip for this age group and the U15s’ first international matches abroad.

This team competes biennially in the CONCACAF U15 Girls’ Championship, but the one CONCACAF competition the team has played in (and won in 2016) was staged in the United States.
