Laredo Heat Announce Open Tryout Dates for 2018 NPSL Season
Laredo Heat will be having open tryout sessions for mid-January 2018.
Soccer News: With the recent announcement of their return to competitive soccer in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) this coming summer of 2018, the Laredo Heat Soccer Club is pleased to announce the dates of their Open Tryouts to all players interested in the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of Head Coach Dana Taylor for their chance to play top-level soccer in the Gateway City.
The tryout will consist of two sessions on Saturday, January 20, 2018, and they will be held at the Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex in Laredo, TX.
The first session will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and the second session will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. (players must attend both sessions). All participants under the age of 18 at the time of the tryout will be required to have a parent or guardian present at the tryout in order to participate.
There will be a $20.00 participation fee required in order to participate in the tryout sessions and it will include Tryout T-Shirt. In addition, all players must bring their own soccer equipment, including shoes (cleats, turf, jogging, etc…), shin guards and shorts/training pants. Space will be limited and registering early is recommended.
“I’m looking forward to visiting the community of Laredo for my first time, meeting with the organization’s staff in order to get a handle on the logistics and of course, measuring and seeing firsthand the talent pool of the local area and those trying out from outside the area”, said Head Coach Dana Taylor.
“For me, the open tryouts are exciting as there is a tremendous opportunity for anyone who makes this team, a team with a strong heritage of having been National Champions yet with a two year hiatus with an opportunity to forge a new path building off of a successful past.”
Taylor concluded, “A new league (NPSL), new players and with soccer having progressed greatly in this country over the past several years, I am anticipating an exciting summer of soccer for the Laredo community”.
The Laredo Heat will open up their 2018 NPSL Season in May and the season schedule will be announced in early 2018.
“These open tryouts for local players is something that I really look forward to because over the years, several players from Laredo have excelled playing for our organization and my hope is that 2018 will bring those diamonds in the rough out”, said Heat Owner Shashi Vaswani.
“If any soccer player has that dream of making it to the big time, getting started under the leadership of Coach Taylor and playing in the NPSL with our organization is a great way to get started, I can guarantee that”, Vaswani added.

Date: Saturday, January 20th (two sessions, morning and afternoon)
Check-in will start at 8:45 A.M. and will conclude at 9:30 A.M. sharp (arrive early)
Start Time for Session One will be at 10:00 AM CST and 4:00 P.M. for Session Two (players must participate in both sessions)
Location: Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex, located at 5201 University Blvd. in Laredo, TX
