Columbus Crew SC Selects Midfielder Luis Argudo in the Third Round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft
Black & Gold select 22-year-old midfielder from Wake Forest University with 21st pick in Third Round (67th overall)
Soccer News: Columbus Crew SC selected Wake Forest University midfielder Luis Argudo (pronounced: loo-EES are-GOO-doe) with the 21st pick (67th overall) in the Third Round of the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Argudo, 22, played two seasons at Wake Forest University from 2016-2017, making 48 appearances (40 starts), while registering nine goals and 10 assists. In 2016, his first year at Wake Forest, Argudo made 25 appearances (17 starts) and tallied one goal and four assists.
In 2017, his senior year, he made 23 appearances (all starts), scoring eight goals and six assists en route to being named to the 2017 All-South Region team.
With the 21st pick in Round 3 (67th overall) of the Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft 2018, #CrewSC has selected midfielder Luis Argudo of Wake Forest University.

Prior to joining Wake Forest, Argudo attended Elon University from 2014-2015, where he made 39 appearances (29 starts) and recorded one goal and three assists. During his freshman year, Argudo made 18 appearances (10 starts), scoring one goal and notching one assist. He followed that up by making 21 appearances (19 starts) in 2015, recording two assists.
On Friday, Crew SC selected three players in the first two rounds of the 2018 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The Black & Gold selected Virginia Tech goalkeeper Ben Lundgaard with the 21st overall pick in the First Round. In the Second Round, Crew SC selected the University of Virginia forward Edward Opoku with the ninth pick (32nd overall) and University of Maryland midfielder Jake Rozhansky with the 21st pick (44th overall).

Under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter, the 2018 MLS Preseason begins on Wednesday, January 24, at SuperKick in Lewis Center, Ohio after entrance physicals and testing. From there, the club departs to Casa Grande, Arizona for its preseason camp on Friday, January 26.
Crew SC is slated to remain in Arizona through February 6 before traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii to participate in the inaugural Pacific Rim Cup from February 6-11. Following the conclusion of the Pacific Rim Cup, the club travels to Charleston, South Carolina to participate in the 2018 Carolina Challenge Cup.
