Surf SC Affiliate Program Expands – Welcomes Central Valley Surf SC
Surf Soccer Club — headquartered in San Diego, California — has won 10 National Championships and develop many players for our country’s national youth teams and player pools. The Surf SC brand is highly valued in the youth soccer world and the organization offers a free affiliate program for approved partners — and, with more than 12,500 youth soccer players proudly wearing the Surf crest on their jersey, and its coast to coast youth soccer clubs, it is clearly one of the top elite offerings in the country.
The Surf SC Affiliate program is continuing to add high-quality partners on the West Coast and is welcoming Central Valley Surf as its newest affiliate. Central Valley Surf joins the Surf Nation as the program’s 14th affiliate, making them the sixteenth club to proudly wear the Surf crest —- including San Diego Surf SC and Orange County Surf SC.
Located in Stockton, California – Central Valley Surf attracts players from Merced, CA up to Elk Grove, CA. Previously known as Central Valley Monarcas Academy, the club has had enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, including earning a US Club Soccer National Championship and several other major tournament titles, as well as hosting The Champions Cup, a Premier Elite ranked tournament on GotSoccer.
The goal of the new partnership is to significantly benefit Northern California’s Central Valley soccer community and increase the level of player development in the area.
“The goal of our club is to provide the best developmental opportunities for our youth soccer players,” said Benjamin Gonzalez, Founder & President of Central Valley Monarcas Academy – now Central Valley Surf. “We are thrilled to take advantage of aligning ourselves as affiliates with Surf Soccer Club,” he added.
“We believe that becoming a Surf Affiliate will help open doors for future Central Valley players who wish to realize collegiate and professional playing opportunities. Our Central Valley is a hotbed of passionate and talented young men and women willing to work hard to realize their dreams, and we are confident we can continue to provide that opportunity” said Vince Meyer, Vice President and Director of Coaching.
Surf Cup Sports believes that the ultimate goal of an elite youth soccer club is to provide its players with the best coaching, player development environment, and top resources to enable them to fulfill their highest potential on the field. Perhaps most importantly, Central Valley will be the second club in what will hopefully soon be a very strong network in Northern California.
“I recommended Central Valley Monarcas to Surf because I knew they were sitting on a hotbed of talent, and I’ve known the directors for a number of years,” said Jeff Jenkins, Executive Director of San Jose Surf. “I’m excited to be able to share resources, both on and off the field, in order to make Surf the epitome of what a premier club will look like in NorCal.”

Youth soccer is a business as well as a passion — and success often depends upon strategic alliances and high-level access to top quality and often coveted programs. As the youth soccer landscape becomes more competitive, strategic alliances and partnerships become more valuable — and, in some areas, necessary for success. Being a part of something bigger and sharing resources as well as experiences can benefit everyone, especially for the club’s youth soccer players.
“We are eager to continue to serve our soccer community in the Central Valley including the underserved communities, and now make available the same opportunities as those playing for some of the most successful clubs in the metropolitan areas of the Nothern California,” said Gonzalez.
“In 2006, I attended my first Surf Cup Sports event as a coach and I was blown away,” added Gonzalez. “It was my first time in San Diego for a soccer event and I knew then that I wanted to model our club after the Surf organization. Everyone was working so well together — it was great. Ever since then, I have attended Surf Cup events and that is 12 years of being a big fan.”
“As soon as I began conversations with Central Valley Monarcas, I knew that they were a good fit for our program,” said Chris Adams, who manages the Surf Affiliate Network as Surf Cup Sports’ Director of Business Development. “They have a strong club culture, a passion for developing players in underserved communities, and strong growth goals for their club. As we continue to focus on building a stronger network, quality clubs led by good people such as Ben and Vince will be pivotal to our success. I am very excited to watch this club grow and benefit from the Surf Affiliate program benefits.”
“At Surf Cup Sports, we are very proud of our Surf Affiliate program and believe that sharing resources is essential to maintaining a competitive edge in today’s landscape. With our 40-year plus track record of success and participation in U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy as well as ECNL, we have extensive experience to share, ” said Jeremy McDonald, VP Business Development for Surf Cup Sports.
