Orange County SC has agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with USL MVP contender Aodhan Quinn, the team announced today.
“I’m extremely excited that Aodhan has committed to the future with OCSC and signed a new deal. He has been one of our most consistent players this season and leads by example every day. Aodhan was one of my first signings this past offseason and has exceeded all expectations,” said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier.
Quinn has been among the USL league leaders in 2018 for several categories, including assists, passes, and chances created. He has played every single minute in the regular season, scoring 11 goals and recording 14 assists for Orange County SC
“I am excited and honored to have re-signed with such a great club. We are in the process of building a winning culture and I’m glad to be able to continue helping Orange County SC in any way I can for years to come,” said Orange County SC Mid-Fielder Aodhan Quinn.
“Success starts with everything we do on the practice field, and my role is to hopefully bring a leadership role and build the club together,” said Quinn. “We have really talented players at Orange County SC and I think we show it everytime we hit the field. We have players who used to play in the MLS and guys who are working to get to the MLS.”
“We are delighted to secure Aodhan for years to come, as he is a winner and fierce competitor who fits perfectly within our Orange County SC culture,” said Orange County General Manager & Executive Vice President Oliver Wyss.
“Quinn is having an MVP worthy season and setting the standard for our club as we drive towards our first USL Cup,” said Wyss.
“Southern California is a hotbed for youth soccer and soccer in general. There are so many kids who play soccer here and it is wonderful for me to come home and do what I love and get paid for it,” said Quinn. “Ever since I was young, I wanted to become a professional soccer player. There is a difference between wanting to become a pro and doing what it takes to be one. When I was 15 or 16 I remember making the conscious choice to do everything I could to achieve this goal.
“There are so many youth players who share the same goal, so if you want to become a pro, you really have to outwork them.”
“It comes down to this, if you want it bad enough, you just have to do the things to get yourself there,” said Quinn.

Aodhan was selected in the 2014 SuperDraft by MLS’ Philadelphia Union after a standout college career at the University of Akron where he won numerous individual awards such as NSCAA All American. Quinn made his professional debut with Orlando City in the USL and helped them to a USL Regular Season Championship title in 2014.
Following his stint at Orlando, Quinn joined Louisville City and was named the captain in 2016 and led his team to the USL Cup Eastern Conference Final. He tallied 48 appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals including the USL goal of the year in 2015.
Before coming back to his roots in Southern California, Quinn played for FC Cincinnati and was an integral player in the team’s success in last season’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, reaching the Semi-Final of the tournament before narrowly falling to New York Red Bulls. Quinn played an instrumental role in wins over MLS opposition such as the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire.
As a youth soccer player, Quinn started out playing soccer for F.C. San Diego.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
