SoccerToday’s Soccer Locker Review: adidas Unveils New adizero F50 Leo Messi Signature Cleats
So cool in so many ways – this new cleat not only adorns the feet of world class soccer player Messi but we think it can actually improve the performance of the real-life average player on the field. And, at the very least, looks the coolest.
This year, adidas celebrated President’s Day by unveiling the new adizero F50 Leo Messi signature cleat. The Argentinian star was scheduled to wear the new cleats when FC Barcelona took on Manchester City FC in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday, February 18 – a game Barcelona won 2-0 on goals by Messi and Dani Alves.
The new adizero F50 Messi cleat is among the lightest in the game and features a sleek color scheme of green, blue, pink, orange and white, along with the iconic adidas three stripes and Messi logo, and combines revolutionary technologies with the precision engineering for the four-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The cleat boasts a HYBRIDTOUCH synthetic leather upper for light weight, soft touch and maximum performance. A DRIBBLETEX raised 3D grip texture provides improved control for high-speed dribbling in both wet and dry conditions and the TRAXION FG outsole provides improved grip and comfort on natural surfaces. The F50 Messi’s SPRINTFRAME construction and SPEEDTRACK stud alignment provide improved balance and maximum acceleration.
The F50 Messi will not be available to the general public until March 1, 2014, but fans can preorder theirs on the adidas website. For more information or to buy your own Leo Messi cleats – visit soccerloco – and follow the conversation on Twitter @adidasSoccer.
