“LA Galaxy Orange County Women’s team has a record of 5-2-1, with the stellar record of connecting over 500 passes per game,” said Scott Juniper, Head Coach. “We have played really good soccer and built a strong team ethic. We are excited that our UWS National Quarterfinal game against Houston Aces is at home for the Orange County fans to enjoy.”
Team Captain Jordan Marada (USC, FC Slovácko), Goalkeeper Hillary Beall (University of Michigan, U19 USWNT) and 4 Time Hall of Famer and 4 Time All-American Lindsey Huie have all played an important role in the season’s success.
“Jordan and Hillary are only two of three players who have always started this season. We have managed a squad of 36 different players in eight games this season,” said Juniper. “Every game is always a different challenge and I know the players on Saturday will pull together well.”
“We are always welcoming to new players and this has made the team dynamics easier to manage,” said Juniper.
Providing opportunities to players has been an important goal for the LA Galaxy Orange County Women’s Team. With deep roots in the community, the team has wanted to help college-bound players prepare for the next level and more than 50 Orange County players have attended team practices.
LA Galaxy OC Women take on The Houston Aces (6-0-0), a dominant team in the UWS Southwest this season. The LA Galaxy OC (5-2-1) received the Wild Card entry as the second-place finisher from the UWS West.
The winner of this National Quarterfinal match will go on to the UWS National Championship (July 19-21) as the fourth and final team.
“We were proud to return to the UWS this season,” said Director of Operations, Tim Woodcock. “Last year, we had a strong team and a very successful inaugural season, with 8 players signing pro-contracts in Europe, Sabrina Flores getting drafted to Sky Blue FC and Megan Crosson signed with Washington Spirit. Once again, Coach Juniper has done an incredible job leading this team, and I am very proud that our team is in the UWS National Quarterfinal.”
“The UWS is a highly competitive women’s soccer league and it is great to bring
