American Youth Soccer Demands More
March 23 to 27 brings the first Spring Break Camp, to be held at Barry University. Three further camps are being prepared for Summer in Amelia Park, Barry University and Kendall Soccer Park
The Barça Academy project has taken a further step forward in world expansion with the setup of another of the club’s own soccer schools in the United States, Barça Academy PRO Miami.
With a clear, creative and attack-minded style of play, FC Barcelona expands its play in America.
The opening of the new FC Barcelona offices in the heart of New York in September 2016 has clearly boosted the growth of training centers in the Americas, and the new Barça Academy PRO Miami means it will have a total of eleven programs around the US. Miami is also regaining the soccer school that was operating in the zone before, only this time it will be under the total control of the Club.
The new Barça Academy PRO Miami will be based at three different sites around the city, which will help attract a higher number of players everywhere from downtown to the suburbs.
The school is scheduled to open next August, although before that there will be tryouts for players and staff, as well as a series of Barça Academy Camps.
March 23 to 27 brings the first Spring Break Camp, to be held at Barry University, the same place where the first team trained on its US Tours in 2017 and 2019.
Three further camps are being prepared for Amelia Park (22-26 June), Barry University (29 June – 3 July) and Kendall Soccer Park (6-10 July). The official club website will be offering special discounts on these activities over the next few weeks.
The United States is currently home to more of the 53 Barça programs around the world than any other country.
It has the Barça Academy PRO in Miami and New York, the Barça Residency Academy in Arizona and Barça Academies in Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Nashville, Northern Virginia, Orlando and San Diego.
Almost half the current programs are located up and down the Americas, where the total of 25 include not just the 11 in the United States but also five in Canada (Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver), two in Mexico (Mexico City and Puebla), Colombia (Bogota and Cali) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo), and one each in Guatemala, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
More than 50 permanent Barça Academy projects in the five continents
Barça Academies are FC Barcelona’s own football schools for boys and girls.
These football schools focus on the comprehensive education of their pupils. The model has been exported internationally, the idea is to expand the Barça brand and teach the rest of the world about the club’s philosophy and values.
The schools work with their own, unique system based on the same methodology that Barça uses from its youngest academy teams through to the senior team, encouraging a creative and attack-minded style of play indispensable combined with the teaching of values: respect, humility, effort, ambition, and teamwork, with proven success.
FC Barcelona currently has over 50 Barça Academy projects around the world, plus more than 180 camps and 50 clinics, in 56 countries on all five continents, involving more than 45,000 children in the different activities that they run.
The Barça Academy projects are divided into Barça Escola Barcelona, the Barça Academy Pro in Haikou (China) and New York (USA), Barça Residency Academy Arizona (USA) and the Barça Academies in all five continents.
