Become a Referee in New York this Winter
Long Island Soccer Referees Association (LISRA) is busily preparing for the upcoming Spring Season of the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) and Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), kicking off in March, so LISRA will be hosting a Bridge Course.
The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Bridge Course is to bridge from an Assistant Referee (Grade 9) to become a Center Referee (Grade 8). Interested candidates should have at least one season of being an Assistant Referee to get experience, but it is not required.
Candidates must be 15 years old by the end of the course to be eligible. They must attend all four classes from 7:00 to 9:30 pm:
Monday night, February 9
Wednesday night, February 11
Monday night, February 23
Wednesday night, February 25
The cost of the course is $90. Candidates must be paid to reserve a seat and the class is limited to the first 50 participants who have registered. If a check is sent, it must arrive by February 9 or the candidate will be removed from the class. Checks should be mailed to LISRA Referee Class, 701-9 Koehler Ave, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779.
Candidates must receive at least 80% on the written exam at the conclusion of the course to pass.

Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association: With over 100,000 youth soccer players–both boys and girls–and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81.
