Eastern New York Premier League Finalists Automatically Qualify For the New York City Cup This Summer
New York Youth Soccer News: Although New York State has experienced a frigid winter, the Spring Season will soon kick off. TheEastern New York Premier League (ENYPL) is the oldest continuous Premier League in the United States and enters its 15th year in 2015.
As the name suggests, many of the best squads in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) play in the ENYPL. The squads will play twice, home and away, against their opponents in the four-team groups. The finals are scheduled for Saturday, June 20 and the finalists automatically qualify for the inaugural New York City Cup this summer, a College ID Showcase involving top North American and international youth soccer competition. The boys will play in the cup from July 17 to 19 with the girls’ turn from July 24 to 26. Randall’s Island plus a couple of college stadiums in the city, to be announced, will host the New York City Cup.

“Eastern New York is pleased to sanction the inaugural New York City Cup and offer the finalists of our spring Premier League guaranteed acceptance into this prestigious event,” commented ENYPL Director Steve Padaetz. “This showcase presents a great opportunity and exposure for all participating Eastern New York teams.”
The six-game ENYPL schedule also incorporates flexible scheduling (over nine weeks) which also affords teams the opportunity to play in Division 1 in their home league and/or attend tournaments, showcases in-season. Three officials per game, the Club Pass Rule (subject to home league permission) and Got Soccer registration system are other attributes of the ENYPL.
Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association: With over 100,000 youth soccer players–both boys and girls–and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators.
All levels of soccer are offered–from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Special Children. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
