Opening Week for 2015 MLS Season Closes With Disciplinary Action
The MLS Disciplinary committee has suspended Columbus Crew SC midfielder Tony Tchani one game and fined the player an undisclosed amount for his 77th minute challenge which endangered the safety of Houston Dynamo midfielder Leonel Miranda in their team’s game on March 7. (VIDEO)
Colorado Rapids defender Bobby Burling has been fined an additional undisclosed amount for failing to leave the field of play in an orderly manner following his second yellow card in 68thminute of the game against the Philadelphia Union on March 7. (VIDEO)
Two other incidents in the same game:
– The Committee has also suspended Colorado Rapids defender James Riley one game and fined him an undisclosed amount for serious foul play against Philadelphia Union forward Andrew Wenger in the 81st minute. (VIDEO)
– The Colorado Rapids were found to be in violation of the League’s mass confrontation policy in the 97th minute. (VIDEO)
Per League policy, Orlando City SC coach Adrian Heath has received a fine for entering the field of play in the 54th minute of his team’s game against New York City FC on March 8. Orlando City SC assistant coach Mark Watson has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for entering the field in the 91st minute of the game.
FC Dallas fitness coach Fabian Bazan has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for entering the field in the 91st minute of the game. (VIDEO)
LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane has been fined an undisclosed amount for unprofessional conduct following his goal in the 81st minute of the Galaxy’s game against the Chicago Fire on March 6.
