AC Milan Prepares For Academy Launch With Tryouts
Train With A.C. Milan Certified Coaches From Italy — launching a new youth soccer program in San Diego, America’s finest soccer city.
Youth Soccer News: An official AC Milan Academy will be taking the pitches this year in San Diego as the Italian giants make their way to the West Coast. Competing in the Presidio Soccer League, AC Milan Soccer School (AC Milan Soccer Schools Facebook) will serve ages 1999-2009 boys and girls sides.
The AC Milan Academy will include official staff from the Serie A club that will help develop players to their top potential.
Marco Bruno will serve as Director of Coaching of the Milan Academy. He is a UEFA B License coach and has played professionally in Italy. He also served as the Academy Director for Milan as he will now be stationed in San Diego.
The training methodology will be similar as the Milan Academy in Italy. The academy will have a development structure that is set according to the age group and level of player. Training will be pure European development with a quarterly evaluation of different tests that players will participate in.
Yearly, the director will also select four players to travel to Milan and train with the official Academy. The boys will experience the training of how to become a professional, which will be similar to the methodology will be applied in San Diego.
The AC Milan Academy’s teams will also travel to participate in the Milan Cup designed for academy players in Italy.
For San Diego this means a lot,” said Gerold Kent, Executive Director. “To have a brand like AC Milan in San Diego is not just that we carry the name. It is the official affiliation with the Italian club. We have the opportunity to invite professional players from the first team to the city of San Diego to instruct and motivate players during their development.”
