Youth Soccer News: Alex & Me is a film that stars Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup Champion Alex Morgan and teen sensation – Siena Agudong who is starring in the new Nickelodeon series “Star Falls” as Sophia Miller, a strong-willed teen.

A poster of soccer star Alex Morgan comes alive, just at the right time to help a youth soccer player who just got cut from her dream team. The movie is uplifting and focuses on the power of determination.
It is a typical story: a teenager meets a humiliating challenge yet rises to reach for dreams with the help of her hero. Agudong plays the 13-year-old soccer hopeful who idolizes her hero, and Alex Morgan plays herself — the hero who shares struggles of her youth which inspire everyone.
A kid with a dream.
Alex Morgan has been named one of the top 8 female athletes in the world and she was also one of the females featured in Maroon 5’s latest music video. On fire both on the field and on the screen, Alex Morgan is also co-producing and starring in her own feature film.
“Every day was a learning experience for me,” said Alex Morgan who worked hard to memorize her lines and learn to be an actress.
“I had to take it step-by-step. Some days I was so exhausted. It was long hours and I am not used to that,” said Morgan. “Some days were so fun. It was just like on the soccer field. Somedays you have good days, and others you don’t. I learned a lot from doing this movie.”
Alex Morgan was basically playing herself in this fun flick and while Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie or Scarlett Johansson need not worry about competition on the highest-paid or most acclaimed actress list, Morgan was fine and even powerful when she was talking soccer and sharing intimate moments that had challenged her.
Directed by Eric Champnella, it was released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Alex & Me, on Digital and Blu-ray/DVD this summer and was a big hit with young soccer fans. It is available on Amazon Prime.
Fun Fact: Alex & Me had its world premiere in LA and Alex Morgan, Siena Agudong, and the entire cast and crew walked the field like “green” carpet and celebrated the release of the film. On-site, there was a bevy of Nickelodeon stars who supported Siena and hundreds of young female soccer players ecstatic to meet Alex Morgan from AYSO and local clubs/leagues.
