Cup Will Be Played In The Dominican Republic
Players from all over the world will be competing in Cup Las Americas from Dec. 12 to 15 at Cap Cana.
The fourth edition of the Barça Academy Cup Las Américas will start on Thursday, Dec. 12 and continue until Dec. 15. Once again, Scotiabank will be supporting this event.
Teams from 16 Barça Academies and Barça Academy Camps will be participating in six categories. Games will be played on the polo friends at Los Establos in Cap Cana.
This year, 600 boys and girls, from nine different countries, aged 6 to 18 years will be competing from all over the American continent plus two guest teams traveling from Barça Escola Barcelona. The 58 teams are coming from Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Barcelona.
Teams will be playing in the following categories: 7-a-side football include Initiation (born 2013-2012), Formation (2011-2010), Precompetition (2009-2008); Competition (2007-2006); and for 11-a-side there are tournaments for Cadete/U16 (2005-2004); and Juvenil/U18 (2003-2002-2001), where local teams Punta Cana FC and Cibao FC are also taking part.
