Bundesliga collaborates with Oliver Kahn’s ‘Goalplay’
The Bundesliga, the top German soccer league, is partnering to support the development of goalkeepers … on all sides of the Atlantic.

Soccer News: The Bundesliga has agreed on a partnership with footballing legend Oliver Kahn’s ‘Goalplay’ to help develop goalkeepers globally.
The two-year collaboration will see the former FC Bayern München and Karlsruhe SC star deliver Goalplay programmes for goalkeepers and goalkeeping coaches in China, India, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the USA.
Three-time World Goalkeeper of the Year, Oliver Kahn, together with Moritz Mattes, founded GOALPLAY in October 2015 and will provide various activities at Bundesliga events in these regions.
“It was always my dream to create a brand that has the Goalkeeper as its only focus,” said Kahn.
One of these includes the ‘Train and Fight Challenge’, a training camp for goalkeepers and coaching session for goalkeeper coaches. Goalplay will also produce goalkeeper development focused video content.
This will include tutorial videos involving some of the best young talent from these markets, whilst they will also provide unique analyses of some of the Bundesliga’s current goalkeepers’ recent performances.
As part of the collaboration, Kahn will undertake an ambassadorial role for the Bundesliga, sharing his unique insights into the greatest league in the world – the amazing atmospheres, the world-class talent he’s played with as well as the renowned youth development system in Germany.
Speaking about this, Goalplay CEO Kahn said, “With Goalplay we are driving the global development of not only individual goalkeepers but also goalkeeper coaching programmes for professional football leagues and federations. In the last few months, Goalplay’s educational programmes have grown rapidly and we are now able to offer even stronger programmes for leagues and federations.
