Cardiff Mustangs Dominate Attack Summer Classic
Attack Summer Classic comes to a close as the Cardiff Mustangs return home with a handful of titles ahead of the 2016 fall season that kicks off in the coming weeks. The Mustangs claimed three championships over the weekend, while Kraig Chiles’ G00 side reached the finals in their bracket.
Youth Soccer News: The Cardiff Mustangs close out the Attack Summer Classic bringing home multiple championships as the North County San Diego club provides a moment of glory and growth heading into the fall season.
The youth soccer tournament was held from August 20-22 at the SoCal Sports Complex in Oceanside, CA.
- San Diego Sockers star captain and MVP Kraig Chiles is the Director of Coaching for Cardiff and the head coach of the G00 girls team which finished as finalists over the weekend following a loss in penalty kicks versus Arsenal FC SD 01/02 EGSL.
“I’m most proud to say that I have never cut a single girl from that team 4 years ago,” said Chiles. “I developed the pool of players that were on the team. I would really like to hear a big club say something like that.”
Chiles took over the team four years ago as a GU12 AA-B squad and has remained dedicated to developing the players on the original roster.
The Cardiff Mustangs B04 White, B05 and B06 sides were crowned champions of the Attack Summer Classic, while the B03 White and G06 teams fell just short in the championship match.
As the fall season gets ready to kick off, Cardiff has prepared its squads for a busy season that will see the teams looking to pick up right where they left off at the Attack Summer Classic.
Cardiff Soccer League is a nonprofit organization that promotes and provides educational soccer competition for players ages 5 – 18. Our policy is simply “All children can participate in Cardiff Soccer, regardless of their ability to pay the annual registration fee.”
The Cardiff Mustangs also offers more motivated and skilled youth soccer players a higher level of training and competition with professional coaching geared to their increased commitment and desires to excel at the game.
