Xoloitzcuintles Under-20 Team Faces Albion SC Pros In Friendly June 28
Club Tijuana’s U-20 Xoloitzcuintles will meet San Diego’s newest NPSL team, Albion SC Pros.
International Soccer News: Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles is taking its brand across the border into San Diego again. This time, it will be the Under-20 team crossing to face Albion SC Pros of the National Premier Soccer League.
The international exhibition match is set for Tuesday, June 28 at the Mission Bay High School stadium (8 p.m. Pacific). It will be the first time these two clubs meet. Club Tijuana’s Under-20 team is preparing for its upcoming LIGA MX 2016 Apertura tournament. Albion SC is gearing up for the league playoffs in its first ever season in the NPSL, a league with more than 40 regional semipro teams.
Albion SC Pros is an extension of the nationally recognized youth soccer club based in San Diego and it will serve as the organization’s first team. Albion SC Pros is an expansion team in the West Region’s Southwest Conference and it is unbeaten in 10 matches.
The Club Tijuana Under-20 squad is coming off a second-consecutive championship final and is preparing to begin its new season in July. The Under-20 program has developed many players that have made the transition to the First Division in Mexico’s Top Flight league. Some of those players were locally bred, such as Paul Arriola, Alejandro Guido, Amando Moreno and John Requejo, all who have made their debuts in the LIGA MX.
