Michael Orozco and Emanuel Aguilera on Miguel Herrera’s Strategy
Tijuana Xolos defenders Michael Orozco and Emanuel Aguilera discuss Miguel Herrera’s tactics following the club’s third match of the LIGA MX 2016 Clausura. The Xolos travel to Mexico City on Saturday to take on Cruz Azul as the club looks to build upon its first two wins of the season.
Soccer News: Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles continue with the same mentality. There has been no change, even after starting the season with two wins in its first three matches. The motto is remains: “one game at a time.”
That’s what defenders Michael Orozco and Emanuel Aguilera talked about during a news conference Tuesday at Estadio Caliente. The one game strategy applies for its next match, a Saturday affair against Cruz Azul in a Week 4 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX 2016 Clausura. The Xoloitzcuintles travel to Mexico City for the 3 p.m. (Pacific) start.
“Our team is set to fight and we all have the same mentality to take it game-by-game,” Orozco said. “We need to go and add all the points available so that we can reach the highest point in the standings.”
Coach Miguel Herrera’s team went through an intense training session, going through some of the schemes he plans to use Saturday. Aguilera talked about some of the things the team needs to do to win against “La Maquina.”
“We need to maintain a solid defensive base,” Aguilera said, also in the news conference. “We need to do that knowing that we have important players that can cause damage at midfield and on top at any moment.”
Club Tijuana will continue with training Wednesday on the alternate field at Estadio Caliente.
