Coritiba FC & CF Monterrey to Play Dallas Cup
Coritiba FC will make its sixth appearance at Dr Pepper Dallas Cup as the Brazilian club looks to claim its third title of the Gordon Jago Super Group. Mexico’s CF Monterrey will also return for the 2017 edition of the prestigious tournament as they look to add to their all-time Dallas Cup record of sixteen “Boot and Ball” trophies across all age groups.

Youth Soccer News: The Dr Pepper Dallas Cup has announced Brazil’s Coritiba FC and Mexico’s CF Monterrey will attend the tournament’s elite Gordon Jago Super Group in 2017. Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII will take place from April 9-16, 2017.
Making their sixth Dr Pepper Dallas Cup appearance, two-time Gordon Jago Super Group champion Coritiba will look to build upon their impressive Dallas Cup résumé next Spring. The Brazilian club hoisted the Super Group “Boot and Ball” championship trophy in 2012 and 2015, when the club last made an appearance. Coritiba was unable to compete in last April’s tournament, but will return in 2017 with their eyes set on their third Gordon Jago Super Group title in six years.
Joining Coritiba in the Gordon Jago Super Group is Mexico’s CF Monterrey. Rayados hold the all-time Dallas Cup record for the most championships, winning sixteen “Boot and Ball” trophies across all age groups. 2017 will mark the third straight Super Group appearance for Monterrey as they seek their first Gordon Jago Super Group title. In 2015, the club reached the final of the elite bracket, but lost to Coritiba. Most recently, Monterrey advanced to the semifinals of the U20 Liga MX Apertura season.
Coritiba and Monterrey joins the Gordon Jago Super Group that includes Brazilian side Fluminense FC, Liga MX powerhouse Tigres UANL, and the 2016 Super Group champions, Everton FC.
