“Playing in the PDL is a great opportunity for players to play at a high level during the summer months,” said van Druenen, “It is a great way to stay fit for the next college season or to showcase yourself at a high level and move on to a professional career.”
The Dayton Dutch Lions FC finished the 2016 PDL season in 4th place in the Great lakes Division with the highlight of the season consisting of a 1-0 home win against eventual national champions, Michigan Bucks.
“We are looking to build on a positive 2016 season and put together a team that can compete for the title and perform week in and week out. We play in a very competitive division and face some tough opposition so we put a lot of work in trying to put together a strong roster and open try outs is just another tool we use.” said van Druenen.
