A Freehold Boro Community-Focused Footgolf Even Raising Awareness and Support For Kids with Special Needs
Zack Dabby, a Freehold Boro High School sophomore, is organizing a footgolf fundraiser, “Every Kick Counts,” to support kids with special needs through sports and community engagement
For Zack Dabby, a sophomore at Freehold Boro High School, sports have always been more than just a game—they’re a way to bring people together. This summer, Zack is combining his love for soccer with his passion for helping others by organizing a footgolf fundraiser called Every Kick Counts.
The event will take place at Bel-Aire Golf Course in Wall Township, NJ, on Friday, July 11, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Zack’s inspiration for this fundraiser comes from his involvement with Challenger Sports‘ program that shares goals with TOPSoccer, where volunteers are paired with children who have special needs.
Since 2020, Zack has dedicated his time to this initiative, forming meaningful connections with the kids he mentors. One of those connections is with Jack, a student from Howell North Middle School who has autism. Over the past three years, Zack and Jack have built a strong friendship through Challenger Sports and beyond.
“Through Challenger, I’ve been able to bond with amazing kids like Jack, and it has truly changed my perspective,” Zack said. “This fundraiser is my way of giving back and making sure more kids have access to sports and community support.”

Footgolf, a fun hybrid of soccer and golf, is the perfect fit for Zack’s fundraiser. The game is played on a golf course, where players kick a soccer ball into oversized holes in as few strokes as possible. It’s an accessible and exciting sport that welcomes participants of all skill levels.
Zack hopes “Every Kick Counts” will have a lasting impact on his community by raising awareness and funds to support children with special needs. The event is open to everyone, and he encourages people to come out, play, and support a great cause.
“This is about more than just one event,” Zack explained. “I want to learn from this experience and create something that can continue making a difference year after year.”
For those interested in participating or supporting the cause, more details will be shared in the coming weeks. Whether you’re a soccer fan, a golf enthusiast, or simply someone who wants to make a positive impact, this event is an opportunity to come together and show that every kick truly does count.
