Far West Regional League Play Has Begun
One of the most competitive and prestigious youth soccer events, the Far West Regional League Schedules have been announced for the 2014-2015 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional League (FWRL) Northwest Division.
With 117 teams in the U-12 through U-18 Boys and Girls age groups vying for the Northwest Division title and an automatic spot in the US Youth Soccer Region IV (Far West) Championships next summer in Boise.
The 2014-2015 FWRL Northwest Division schedule features league-hosted weekends in Boise, Portland and Seattle, as well as all U15 through U18 teams competing in the PacNW Winter College Showcase.
These league-hosted weekends will serve as the primary college scouting weekends for the Northwest Division with multiple teams competing at the same location.
The Far West Regional League is the premier league competition for US Youth Soccer’s Region IV (14 states in the West area of the USA), and is divided into three geographic divisions (Northwest, Desert Premier, and California).
Just so you know, youth soccer in the USA is divided into regional areas for competitions culminating in a country wide championship. California, in general and the Cal South area in specific, are well known for developing significant youth soccer talent and earning championship titles.
The Region IV Far West Regional League joins the Region I Premier League, Region II Midwest Regional League and the Region III Southern Premier League as the top regional competitions throughout the country.
Each US Youth Soccer Regional League is comprised of the top teams in their respective region that have earned their spot based on a proven track record of success in US Youth Soccer competitions.
The top finishers in each regional league earn advancement to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships, part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the oldest and most prestigious youth soccer national championship competition in the country, and a chance to earn a coveted spot in the US Youth Soccer National League.

The Northwest Division is comprised of the top teams from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and British Columbia, Canada.
