FCBEscola Expands in Canada & the United States
FCBEscola has announced its latest expansion locations as the FC Barcelona program expands its outreach worldwide.
FC Barcelona has a total of 25 youth academies around the globe. The North American market is a key strategic part of this development — One youth academy is based in Charlotte, NC, and another in Miami.
Youth Soccer News: The FCBEscola project continues its international expansion with three new branches set to open in Montreal (Canada), Virginia (United States) and Dammam (Saudi Arabia).
The popularity of the FC Barcelona player development program is extraordinarily high, especially is areas where elite youth soccer is prominent.
FCB IS MORE THAN A CLUB.
FC Barcelona’s youth program in the USA is a more than just sharing the famous methodologies of the unique Barça style.
The FCBEscola is the proper name for the flagship FC Barcelona Soccer School for talented youth soccer players — both boys and girls — which attempts to give its pupils allround training. This model, exported on an international scale, attempts to extend the Barça brand and publicize the working philosophy of the Club and its values to the rest of the world.
This month, total of 200 American youth soccer players and their families are traveling to FC Barcelona for a huge international youth competition — the 6th edition of the FCBEscola International Tournament.
A total of 134 youth soccer teams — representing 4 age groups — will compete from all around the world — and Barça stars Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, and Andrés Iniesta are all encouraging youth players to prepare and enjoy the youth soccer experience.

This international event brings together FCBEscoles youth soccer teams from Barcelona, Warsaw, Singapore, Egypt, Dubai, Santo Domingo, Delhi, Mumbai, Qingdao, Fukuoka, Katsushika, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Moscow, Charlotte, Florida, Peru, Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, Canada, Lagos, Tec. Barcelona, Tec. Catalunya, Tec. Tenerife, USA Baghery, USA Kaptiva, USA ISL, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland.
With 19 countries represented –Spain, Poland, Singapore, Brazil, Japan, Egypt, India, Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, United States, Peru, Turkey, Italy, Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Russia, China — this is truly a unique youth soccer experience.
Numbers Coming From the USA:
- Number of teams from United States: 19 youth soccer teams
- Number of players from US: 200 youth soccer players
- Parents coming from US: 400 adults
FCBEscola Florida, FC Barcelona’s local area youth soccer academy, is sending 40 area kids to Barcelona to compete in the club’s 6th annual international tournament April 10-13. This will be the third year FCBEscola Florida will compete in the tournament and this year they will have four teams participating: Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, and Under 14. FCBEscola Charlotte is sending a total of 7 youth soccer teams.

With the announcement of these three new centers, the 2017-18 season will kick off with 31 FC Barcelona soccer schools around the globe.
The Montreal FCBEscola has emerged itself in the metropolitan area of the most populated city of Quebec after a number of FCBCamps were held there in recent months.
As a result, Canada has become the country with the highest number of the club’s soccer schools, with a total of five opened by BCNSports, after previously inaugurating schools in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa.
The United States is close behind, as it is the country with the second most FCBEscolas. As well as centers in Florida and Charlotte already functioning, and the announcement of a new branch in Austin, Texas, another school is set to open its doors courtesy of Sporting Global in Loudoun, Virginia.
The new FCBEscola in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, also highlights the presence of FCBEscolas in the Middle East, which has already seen great success in Riyadh, as well as a branch in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The FCBEscolas work via their own particular model, based on the Barça methodology which includes a creative and attacking brand of soccer and the promotion of positive values such as respect, effort, ambition, teamwork and modesty with proven results.
FC Barcelona currently has 25 active FCBEscolas, more than 160 campuses and 50 clinics, with a presence in more than 50 countries with more than 40,000 children taking part in activities promoted by the FCB Escola.
