2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup Recap and Preview
The second day of the eighth edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup prepares to kick off following an intense first set of matches taking place on Saturday in Bucaramanga and Cali. Ukraine takes on Falcão and Brazil with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET, while Paraguay face Italy at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Day 1 Recap
Egypt kicked off the tournament against Cuba with a dominating 7-1 victory in the first Group B match of the tournament. The African side were led by Mostafa Eid who tallied a hat-trick and captain Mizo who recorded a brace. Alejandro Marrero scored Cuba’s lone goal of the match.

Panama topped Uzbekistan 3-1 in the first Group A match of the day at Coliseo El Pueblo in Cali. Although Uzbekistan dominated possession, three players from Panama were able to make it on the scoresheet to lead their side to a victory in the opening day of the tournament.

Russia pushed past Thailand with a 6-4 victory in the second Group B match held in Medellín. Eder Lima tallied two goals on the night for Russia, while Thailand had four different players filling the scoresheet.

The final match of the day featured hosts Colombia and a strong Portugal side led by the notable Ricardinho.
Colombia’s Angellott Caro opened up the scoring in a flash with a 29-second goal in the final Group A match. Both sides played a hard fought match that didn’t see Portugal break through until the dying seconds of the match. Cardinal was able to salvage a point for his side with a quick turn just outside the area to score past Colombian goalkeeper Carlos Nañez.

Day 2 Preview
Mozambique kick off Day 2 against Australia in the opening Group D match at 5:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo Bicentenario in Bucaramanga.
The second match will see a Group C matchup between Vietnam and Guatemala at 7:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo El Pueblo in Cali.
Ukraine will take on Falcão and Brazil in the second Group D match with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET in Bucaramanga.
The final match of the day will feature Paraguay and Italy of Group C with kickoff at 9:00 p.m. ET.
