2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup Kicks Off in Colombia on Saturday
The eighth edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup is set to begin play in Colombia with matches held over the next three weeks. Futsal stars Ricardinho of Portugal and Brazilian maestro Falcão will appear for their national teams who will be aiming to reach the final held on October 1st at Coliseo El Pueblo in Cali.

Futsal News: The 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup kicks off in Colombia on Saturday with host cities Medellín, Cali and Bucaramanga serving as locations for the 8th edition of the tournament.
A total of 24 teams travel to Colombia to take on the world’s best as futsal takes the world by storm.
The likes of international futsal stars Ricardinho of Portugal and Brazilian maestro Falcão will be in attendance for the next three weeks of the tournament. Falcão is appearing in his fifth world cup with Brazil who are are heading into the tournament with a possible three-peat win in mind. Brazil won the trophy as hosts in 2008 and repeated in Thailand four years ago.
Spain are coming off a championship win at the UEFA Futsal Euro 2016 held in Serbia this past February.

Opening Day Preview
Cuba kick off the tournament against Egypt in the opening Group B match at 5:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo Iván De Beodut in Medellín.
The second match of the day will see Uzbekistan take on Panama of Group A at 7:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo El Pueblo in Cali.
Thailand will take on Russia in the second Group B match with kickoff also set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
The final match of the day will feature Colombia and Portugal of Group A with kickoff at 9:00 p.m. ET.
