2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup Recap and Preview
The group stage of the 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup comes to a close with the final set of Round of 16 matches taking place on Thursday afternoon in Colombia. Argentina take on Ukraine in the first Round of 16 matchup at 6:30 p.m. ET, while Italy face Egypt at 9:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo el Pueblo in Cali.

Round of 16 – Wednesday Recap
Iran upset the defending champions Brazil in a deadlock match that saw the South American side bow out in penalty kicks. Regulation ended 4-4, with Iran topping the two-time reigning champions 3-2 in penalties. Captain Falcão led Brazil with a hat-trick, but four goal scorers by Iran was able to push the match to the limit.
Iran are set to face Paraguay in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET in Bucaramanga.

Spain edged Kazakhstan 5-2 in Medellín as they prepare to take on Russia in the quarterfinals. The European side dominated possession 59% to 41% and recorded 56 attempts on goal versus Kazakhstan’s 48.

In the final match of the day, Portugal cruised past Costa Rica in a 4-0 victory in Cali. Captain Ricardinho recorded a brace on the night to lead his side into the quarterfinals. Portugal will face the winner of the Thailand versus Azerbaijan matchup taking place this afternoon.

Round of 16 – Day 12 Preview
Argentina take on Ukraine in the first Round of 16 matchup on Thursday with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET at Coliseo Bicentenario in Bucaramanga.
Thailand face Azerbaijan in the second match of the day at 6:30 p.m. ET at Coliseo Ivan de Bedout in Medellín.
The final match of the day features Italy and Egypt at 9:00 p.m. ET at Coliseo el Pueblo in Cali.
All matches will air live on Fox Soccer Go/2G0.
