Hamilton, Williams, O’Sullivan, and Kurtz Are Off To Australia
Hamilton, Williams, O’Sullivan and Kurtz will all be playing in Australia’s top women’s professional league during the NWSL offseason.
The Carolina Courage will have four players playing in the W-League during the offseason. Forward Kristen Hamilton and Lyn Williams will be joining the Western Sydney Wanderers. Denise O’Sullivan will also join the Wanderers, but for only seven matches. Defender Kaleigh Kurtz will join Canberra United.
The Westfield W-League is Australia’s top women’s professional soccer league. Out of the four players, O’Sullivan is the only player with W-League experience. She played with Canberra United for seven games during the 2018-2019 W-League season.
The Western Sydney Wanderers kicked off the W-League season last Thursday morning against Adelaide United Women. While Williams and O’Sullivan were unavailable to play in the match, Hamilton started and played all 90 minutes and scored a goal in her debut. The Wanderers won 2-1.
Kurtz played all 90 minutes as Canberra United started their season with a win. The full W-League schedule can be found here.
