Soccer News: What’s in a shirt? Can clothes make a difference? Many people have asked these questions, but when it comes to protecting goalkeepers in the world of soccer, a special compression jersey can make a huge difference — especially one that is designed with protection in mind. Enter G-Form and their new goalie ambassador Bill Hamid. G-Form is a leader in athletic impact protection – a new term hitting the soccer market and Hamid, who is doing great on the road to recovery, realizes the benefits of a protection.
G-Form welcomes Bill Hamid, of D.C. United in Major League Soccer and the U.S. Men’s National Team, as the brand’s newest ambassador for soccer.
An imposing presence in goal, Hamid has been the first choice goalkeeper at D.C. United since 2010, when he broke Tim Howard’s record for the youngest goalkeeper to win a game in the MLS. Hamid continued to improve and earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors for the MLS in 2014 along with being a finalist in 2015.
In January of 2016, Hamid reported to the U.S. National Team despite an injury to his knee that occurred in a previous training session. His worst fears were realized when doctors discovered a tear in his Meniscus. Hamid was out six months and missed the first twelve games of the 2016 MLS season.
Upon return, Hamid was determined to be better than ever and began to explore injury prevention. When Hamid learned of G-Form, it immediate piqued his interest.
“Goalkeeper training is intense and involves a lot of repetition that takes a toll on your body” said Hamid. “The G-Form shorts, shirts, and shin guards couldn’t be more ideal for me. Not being sore or injured means I can perform at my best and do what I want on the field. I’m thrilled to be a part of the G-Form team and I’m proud to represent a brand I believe in.”
