Global Premier Soccer Oregon Becomes Latest Addition to GPS Network
Global Premier Soccer (GPS) has expanded to Oregon as the Bayern Munich affiliated club now reaches across 21 states in the U.S. GPS was founded in 2001 with the goal to provide successful development opportunities for youth players in the United States along with the ability to compete at the highest level of world soccer.
Youth Soccer News: Global Premier Soccer (GPS) are pleased to announce that GPS Oregon has become the latest addition to the GPS network that now sees the club active in 21 US States and territories. The announcement follows recent releases on expansion into Delaware and Canada.
GPS will work alongside local clubs and academies to bring experienced, professional coaches trained in the GPS curriculum and methodology into local communities to work with players of all ages.
GPS Oregon will be holding tryouts for teams that will be based out of PDX, East Portland and Newberg. Staff involved in GPS Oregon include prominent local coaches MJ Tate and Jorge Rios-Nogales. GPS Oregon will also support the club’s recently announced affiliation with Hillsboro Soccer Club (HSC).
“The formation of GPS Oregon is an exciting development for the club and sees us officially launch our first office on the West Coast,” said GPS CEO Joe Bradley. “We see a fantastic platform for growth and we look forward to bringing the GPS methodology to players and parents in Oregon.”
Founded in 2001, GPS is one of the largest and most successful soccer organizations in the United States. Its mission is to establish a unique player development model in the US and produce players who can compete at the highest level of world soccer.
GPS is also the Official North American partner of German giants FC Bayern Munich. Signed in 2014, the extensive agreement is one of the most unique European Club partnerships ever developed in the United States which includes twice annual visits of FC Bayern coaches to the US, monthly conference calls, and curriculum support from the club that developed World Cup Winners Phillip Lahm and Thomas Mueller amongst others.
