CD Guadalajara Joins Gordon Jago Super Group
CD Guadalajara will be joining an array of talented teams set to suit up for the Gordon Jago Super Group during Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII. The oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in the United States welcomes top talent from around the world to compete at the highest level.

Youth Soccer News: The Dr Pepper Dallas Cup has announced the participation of CD Guadalajara in the 38th edition of the prestigious international youth tournament. Commonly known as Chivas, Mexico’s most popular team will return to the Gordon Jago Super Group for the first time since 2014. Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXVIII will take place from April 9 through April 16, 2017.
Chivas has done well in previous Dallas Cups, having won seven “Boot and Ball” championship trophies across all age groups since 1998. The club’s first tournament appearance came in 1990 during Dallas Cup XI. Chivas last won a title in 2008, but the Mexican club is still seeking its first Gordon Jago Super Group win.
Guadalajara has a successful history of developing future Mexican National Team stars. National team standouts and Dallas Cup alumni Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Omar Bravo are both products of the Chivas Academy.
CD Guadalajara rounds out a strong 2017 Gordon Jago Super Group that includes club from seven countries and four continents. The elite bracket features one of the world’s top ranked academies in Manchester United and four former Gordon Jago Super Group champions in Everton, Tigres, Eintracht Frankfurt and Coritiba.
The group also includes the all-time leader in “Boot and Ball” championship trophies in CF Monterrey and defending U.S. Soccer Development Academy champions FC Dallas. Macabbi Haifa, Red Bull Brasil will appear in their first Dallas Cup.
