U.S. Youth Futsal to Host I.D. Camp in Wisconsin
Longtime American futsal pioneer Keith Tozer will be hosting a US Youth Futsal State I.D. trial this summer in Wisconsin. The event will provide players with a path onto the national futsal scene and also serve as a tune-up opportunity for those awaiting the U.S. Youth Futsal National I.D. trials held later this year.
Futsal News: Wisconsin Sports Group along with Racine Futsal Club will be hosting the Wisconsin/Illinois State I.D. Trial in Sturtevant, WI, on June 8th and 9th. The camp will be led by U.S. Youth Futsal Technical Director and U.S. Futsal Men’s National Team (USFMNT) former head coach Keith Tozer.
The Futsal I.D. program identifies and develops elite players in a competitive environment through Futsal I.D. State Trials.
FUTSAL I.D. Trials are for boys and girls born 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.
Assembling the very best futsal players to train and compete under the guidance of the United States National Coaching Staff assures the highest level of development possible. The top youth futsal players identified and selected at this trial event will be invited to participate in the U.S. Youth Futsal National I.D. trials.

What happens at the U.S. Youth Futsal National I.D. trials?
This is where the real excitement happens. The youth futsal players invited to travel and represent the USA on the U.S. Youth Futsal National Teams are selected from the national trials.
It is a huge honor and an amazing life experience to play international friendlies on foreign soil.
Wisconsin’s I.D. Trial is open to all youth soccer players from every state. Not only available to those players from the WI/IL area, but also open to players across the country who were not able to make their own state ID or from an area that does not provide one. There are many affordable hotel options in the area.
For those players who already were selected for the National ID great opportunity for preparation and tune-up!

Keith Tozer is Mr. Futsal in America.
For those of you who do not know, Tozer was the longtime head coach for our country’s Men’s National Futsal Team.
Working for U.S. Soccer starting in 1996 as the futsal head coach, Tozer led our country to many notable accomplishments including the U.S. Futsal Men’s National Team (USFMNT) victory his first year, winning gold at the 1996 CONCACAF Championship. Tozer then led his team to a CONCACAF bronze in 2000 and then back to crowning champions, earning another gold at the 2004 CONCACAF Championship. In addition to many other accomplishments, Tozer also coached the team to a seventh-place finish at the 2004 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Taipei. The USA qualified for these games and competed in Group C against Italy, Paraguay, and Japan, emerging with the #2 rank behind Italy. In the bracket, the USA defeated Paraguay and tied Japan.
Coached by Tozer, USA’s high scoring and two time Hermann Trophy winner Johnny Torres made the ranking for “Players – Top Goals” scored in the Futsal World Championship. Torres earned the #9 spot out of the 94 players ranks.

Tozer has made a name for himself on the international futsal scene as a vocal supporter of the sport as well as a legendary coach.
Tozer is the most winning coach in U.S. professional indoor soccer history and works constantly to help raise the level of player development through futsal.
With amazing positive energy and a gift for communicating to youth players, Tozer’s passion for developing talent shines through at U.S. Youth Futsal events.
Playing futsal is great training for soccer players and many of today’s superstar pros, like Cristiano Ronaldo, have benefited from futsal training.

“Players who play futsal are much more active with the ball than in outdoor,” said Tozer. “This builds confidence and fuels the fire for their passion to go play soccer.”
According to Sean Bowers, former captain of the U.S. Futsal Team and MLS defender, futsal improved his game immensely. Bowers has often remarked that Tozer is an outstanding, world-class coach.

Futsal I.D. gathers players from around the country for regional identification camps, with the best moving on to national camps and the very best selected for youth international teams. This is a great opportunity for talented youth players.
More and more youth soccer coaches are recognizing the value of playing futsal, and the sport has grown dramatically in the last few years.
As a leader in the sport, Tozer not only helps grow the game of futsal on the courts. In 2018, Tozer launched the highly successful World of Futsal, a podcast series, that features interviews with prominent international figures in the sport of futsal.
At the Wisconsin Futsal I.D. Trial, aspiring youth athletes will have the opportunity to receive futsal tips from Tozer as well as gain experience from training with other talented, young futsal players.
The U.S. Youth Futsal I.D. trial will also welcome Mark Litton, current USFMNT goalkeeper coach, as a guest trainer. In addition to training goalkeepers during the trial, Litton will host a clinic for those hoping to receive in-depth training from him.
More on Coach Tozer’s Coaching Success
Tozer served as the head coach of indoor soccer club Milwaukee Wave for 22 seasons. His tenure with Milwaukee was during the same period that he coached the USFMNT.
During his indoor soccer career, Greg Howes was a member of Milwaukee Wave. He recorded over 330 goals for the Wave and was called up to the USFMNT by Tozer from 2001 to 2005. Coached by Tozer, Howes was named Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) MVP on three occasions.
Tozer also coached Victor Nogueira (goalkeeper), Johnny Torres (midfielder) and Todd Dusosky (forward) who played at Milwaukee as well as with the USFMNT
