Forward Tarzan Fernandez Scores Four Goals To Lead Wolves In 6-1 Win
The L.A. Wolves FC scored a 6-1 victory over Inland Empire FC as the two clubs met Sunday night at the Toyota Sports Complex in the second round of the UPSL Admiral Cup.
The Wolves received a stellar performance from forward Tarzan Fernandez, who netted four goals as the L.A. Wolves cruised to their second back to back victory over the Inland Empire eliminating the IE from the Admiral Cup which is a home and away series.
The first half for the Wolves started off where they left off last weekend against the Inland Empire, as the Wolves set the tone with an early goal in the 23rd minute of play on a strike by Wolves Midfielder Cameron Marlow who laced a shot from 30 yards out hitting the upper right hand corner not leaving a chance for the IE keeper. After the first goal, the Wolves Fernandez got on the score sheet with a nice goal from close range off a cross from Defender Andrew Johnson making the score 2-0 which is where both teams would go into at halftime.
After a halftime break, the Wolves started the second half with a third goal by Fernandez giving the Wolves a 3-0 lead as the game would then open up. The Wolves would end up scoring three more goals between new comer Midfielder Dan McCarthy and Fernandez, giving the Wolves a 6-2 win and an advance to the third round of the Admiral Cup.
Yan Skwara, L.A Wolves FC Head Coach said, “This was our third straight win in cup play as the boys played well tonight in some tough wind conditions as we had to try to keep the ball on the ground as much as possible. The important thing is we advanced out of the second round. The next round match up will for sure be a tougher series for us but we are excited and up for any opponent as we wait to see who we draw next.”
The L.A. Wolves next game will be the UPSL 2015/16 Season opener this coming weekend.
